My first Facebook application was a game, sort of. Where on Earth am I? gave other people a chance to find the location of your selected photos that you geo-located. The map was a google map and as you guessed, you would get hints on how far away you were and which direction. Facebook has changed their API since I wrote it so it is a a bit broken now.
My second Facebook application was an effort to link Verbdate with Facebook called Verbdate. This application allows you to bookmark Verbdate profiles on Facebook.
Next I wrote an application, PhotoshopBasics, that would show your progress in the courses you bought on PhotoshopBasics.com. This application has been pretty successful in bringing new members to the main site, www.photoshopbasics.com.
My Party with Me! application has done quite well. The premise is very simple: look at a photo and decide if you would party with this person. You can also share an event that you will be attending - perhaps you'll meet? You can also share your Verbdate profile through the application. I make great efforts to conceal your actual Facebook profile from others. For example, I use a hash to identify the profile rather than the profile id.
My first application that used Facebook's fbml instead of iframe was Photoshop Quiz. This application is a pretty simple quiz type application. Quizzes are managed by the administrator of www.photoshopbasics.com.
