The goal of Photoshop Basics is a site that can provide a full range of services for their customers. The site is written from the ground up with PHP 5.

Photoshop Basics Home Page

The site has basic navigation provided by menus and submenus. The right side provides information that rotates through a collection of data. Particularly the testimonials and the sample animations are rotated.

The testimonials are managed in an Admin page. Which testimonial is shown is determined by which course is being presented. Thus you'll get testimonials on the courses your looking at.

The sample animations are written in Javascript. As with the testimonials, which sample is shown is also guided by which course you are looking at. The sample animation shows the image before being Photoshopped with a blend animation to what it looks like after being modified.

Photoshop Basics Courses Page

The courses are managed in an Author page. Each part of the course is downloadable after you've purchased it. We use Paypal to process the transactions.

Course management is pretty simple. An author can add/edit courses, add/edit modules within a course, and add/edit assets within a module. The assets are the actual downloadable parts of the course. Some are simple as in jpgs or pdfs. Others are more complex. For example, the tutorial movies run within a web page rather than directly downloading the movie.

Site administration can and is handled separately from authoring. The administrator has access to the Admin page. The administrator manages the sample animations, testimonials, rewards, email campaigns, and the Facebook Quiz.

The reward system is interesting. Members can earn discounts based on what they have done. We can setup rewards based on things ranging from entering a code they received by email to whether or not they bought a certain course to some specific activity they have had on Facebook, such as how many friends they have using our Facebook application.
